The first trailer for Bombshell, which focuses on the scandal in which high-profile Fox News employees faced alleged sexual harassment at the hands of the network's founder, Roger Ailes, is here. Starring Charlize Theron as Megyn Kelly, Nicole Kidman as Gretchen Carlson, Margot Robbie as Kayla Pospisil, and John Lithgow as Ailes, Bombshell is set for release on Dec. 20.

The teaser for the Jay Roach-directed drama doesn't give too much away, but it does promise a film fraught with tension. While in development, Bombshell was given the tongue-in-cheek title of Fair and Balanced, the former slogan of the right-wing news network.

Allegations against the late Ailes, who was the former chairman and CEO of Fox News, were first brought to light in a 2014 book by Gabriel Sherman. He reported that Ailes offered a television producer a raise in the 1980s if she slept with him, although Fox News denied the allegations at the time.

Two years later, Gretchen Carlson filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Ailes, alleging that he fired her because she rejected his advances. Sherman added that he had six reported accounts of sexual harassment from women who worked under Ailes. Megyn Kelly later revealed that she was subjected to similar sexual advances from Ailes at the start of her career. He later resigned from the company in late July 2016, and received $40 million in severance. He died in May 2017, after suffering a subdural hematoma.

Allison Janney, Kate McKinnon, Malcolm McDowell, Mark Duplass, Alice Eve, Brigette Lundy-Paine, and Rob Delaney also star in the film. Watch the trailer above.
