In an appearance on Emily Ratajkowski’s podcast, actress Bella Thorne revealed that a casting director sexualized her during an audition when she was just 10.

“I had a director give me feedback once, and I was 10,” the 25-year-old said on a recent episode of High Low with EmRata, per Deadline. “And they call—the casting director calls my agent, and my agent calls my mom, and they’re like, ‘So she’s not moving forward because the director felt like she was flirting with him and it made him really uncomfortable.’ … What the fuck are you talking about, man? I don’t give a fuck what I said! I don’t care if I said, ‘Eat my pussy right now!’ She is 10 years old! Why ever would you think that? Why, why?!”

During the conversation with Ratajkowski, Thorne added that she “still goes back” to that interaction “every day.” She admitted it drives her “crazy” and has routinely reminded herself she was “not the problem” in that situation. “I’m trying to find, almost, fault in myself,” she continued. “Like: ‘What did you do, Bella? What did you do that made him feel like this?’ And every time, I’m like, ‘Bella, stop it.’ Even that thought right there is becoming part of the problem.”

Ratajkowski shared how an agent once pointed to her photo and brazenly said “this face, this is how we know this girl gets fucked” when she was 16. “That is the reality of being a young woman in the industry, and being like, underage, but also the weird fetishization we do with underage girls,” she said.

Bella Thorne previously revealed she was molested as a child, and opened up about the experience in a post on Instagram in January 2018. “I was sexually abused and physically growing up from the day I can remember till I was 14...when I finally had the courage to lock my door at night and sit by it,” she wrote. “All damn night. Waiting for someone to take advantage of my life again. Over and over I waited for it to stop and finally it did.”
