Ever feel like a complete waste of a first world human when you realize you've been watching the game on you're cellphone without wifi? You get the Jordan cry face when you get that data usage text? Fear no more and get ready to switch over to T-Mobile very soon.
The communications company is rolling out a new plan that will allow customers to stream videos for free. So far the carrier has 24 services down for the cause including Netflix, HBO GO, HBO NOW, Hulu, ESPN, Showtime, Starz, and Encore. According to T-Mobile CEO John Legere during today's Uncarrier X event in L.A., they figured out a way to optimize video so customers won't have to waste data. Verizon has a similar deal with their go90 video-streaming service, but it's a mobile app and isn't fully integrated with their cell phone plans.
This will hopefully be a game-changer as video streaming is projected to rise 400 percent by 2020, C-Net reports. Netflix CEO Reed Hastings was right, we are seeing the end of traditional TV. The company will also double data on customer plans for free. "Binge On" will be available this Sunday, Nov. 15.
