The cast of Game of Thrones is navigating the end of the show the same way that the fans are, coming to terms with the fact that this phenomenon they've been a part of for almost a decade is coming to a close. Some characters have a chance to take a bow before the series closes, via the sort of surprise deaths that the show made its name on.

Missandei of Naath got a chance to speak her piece before getting her head lopped off over the gates of King's Landing, telling her compatriots to turn the Red Keep into a kiln. The actress who played the Summer Islander didn't get to have her say, though. So, Nathalie Emmanuel posted a heartfelt goodbye to her costars on Instagram.

She started by sharing how happy she was to play the translator and confindant to Daenerys Targaryen.

"It's been one of my greatest joys playing Missandei of Naath...The quiet and kind translator. A brilliant woman who overcame so much suffering and found herself, her voice...and her one and only love. She represented so much for me, personally, that I have no choice but to carry the things she has taught me into my life going forward," she wrote.

Emmanuel addressed the Dragon Queen first.

"I've loved playing your BFF for the past seven years. Thank you for being such a wonderful person in my life and a source of light and laughter," she said. "The Bad Ass Boss Lady Warrior Goddess club will live on forever."

Of course, no sign-off would be complete without taking time out for her on-screen partner.

"I literally cannot tell you what sharing the screen with you has meant to me. I found performances I didn’t know I had inside me, simply because you gave me so much to work against," she wrote. "Playing Missandei and Grey Worm’s journey has been so special. I couldn’t have asked for a more generous and supportive co-star."
