More details have emerged about the car crash that left Kevin Hart unresponsive over Labor Day weekend. TMZ says the comedian and actor underwent spinal surgery to fuse two fractures in his vertebrae.
The website's anonymous sources say Hart is in a tremendous amount of pain and being heavily medicated for his injuries. Hart will reportedly need to go through intensive physical therapy to fully recover, but he did not suffer paralysis, something common in spinal injuries.
Hart's wife Eniko previously shared that her husband is "great" and "going to be just fine." She noted that Hart was "in good spirits" following the accident.
Hart's friend Jared Black wrecked Kevin's 1970 Plymouth Barracuda early on the morning of Sept. 1, losing contol on Mulholland Highway, the famously curvy road that runs through Malibu Hills. Photos of the scene show a terrifying sight, with the roof of the car visibly collapsed. Hart was able to leave the scene but was hospitalized shortly thereafter. Both Black and Hart suffered major injuries but a third passenger was unharmed. Black was not under the influence and intoxication is not suspected as a the cause of the crash.
