Adin Ross is officially unbanned from Twitch, according to reports.
The 24-year-old’s account has been reinstated after initially getting banned from the streaming platform in February 2023. Although Ross hasn’t made a formal announcement about the matter, he’s already facing a major setback.
Ross’ follower count on Twitch has been reset and had gained approximately 59,500 followers at the time of this writing. Per Insider Gaming, Ross had peaked at 7.2 million Twitch followers prior to the ban.
It’s unclear if the platform will eventually restore his previous follower tally.
A Twitch spokesperson told Dexerto that Ross was banned two years ago due to “unmoderated hateful conduct” happening in the chat.
During a February 2023 stream, Ross reportedly displayed messages from his Kick channel for over 20 minutes without moderation that contained racist and antisemitic messages that he neither condemned nor removed, which violated Twitch’s community guidelines.
At the time, Ross said the ban happened for “no reason” and moved to Kick shortly after.
Last week, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy explained on the Patch Notes podcast that indefinitely suspended streamers can apply for reinstatement after six months, depending on the severity of their suspension.
Ross recently hinted that his Twitch ban would be lifted at the end of March. Whether he will fully embrace the platform again remains to be seen.
