The New York Post is facing backlash for its Thursday cover featuring Kim Kardashian’s meeting with President Donald Trump. The newspaper is being called sexist for its emphasis on Kim’s body and repeated mention of her derriere using the headline “Trump Meets Rump,” calling the reality star “Kim Thong Un,” and referring to the meeting as a “Big Ass Summit.”
On Wednesday, Kim met with Trump to discuss criminal justice reform and specifically pardoning Alice Marie Johnson. At the beginning of May, news broke that Kim was working with the White House to pardon Johnson, a first-time, non-violent drug offender serving a life sentence without parole.
Trump thanked Kim in a tweet.
Fans and critics of Kim weighed in on the Post cover. Some thought the paper's take on the meeting was hilarious.
While others called it out for being “sexist and pathetic.”
The meeting was probably a dream come true from Trump’s heyday hosting the Apprentice. He angrily fired Khloé Kardashian because, as sources told HuffPost, “He called her a ‘piglet,’” asking “What is this? We can’t even get the hot one?”
