Naomi Campbell on Nicki Minaj and Cardi B's Fight: 'I Felt Very Disappointed'

Campbell shares her two cents about the explosive battle that went down during New York Fashion Week, and passes when asked about Kendall Jenner.

Cardi B and Nicki Minaj’s explosive battle may have taken place at Harper Bazaar’s Icons party during New York Fashion Week, but according to ultimate fashion icon Naomi Campell, no icons were in attendance.

“It was called the icon party but there were no icons there,” she told Andy Cohen. “Kate and I were at home on the couch watching TV.” Oh yeah, that’s a casual mention of her fellow icon Kate Moss.

Icons or not, Campbell definitely isn’t here for the Nicki/Cardi drama. “I was disappointed. I don’t want to see women of color fight. I don’t want to see women fight period,” she said. “Not there. Not that...it’s all music. There’s no division in music, and music is for everybody. There’s no discrimination, so I felt very disappointed.”

However, she's still supportive of Cardi as an artist, and the "I Like It" rapper is on the lineup for Global Citizen Festival, which Campbell is hosting this weekend.

Aside from the Fashion Week feud, there are things Campbell was not willing to speak on, including Kendall Jenner. When asked a question about Kendall being the highest paid model while also being super selective of the shows she walks in, Campbell sternly replied, “next question.”

Cohen heeded her response and quickly moved on, so we have no idea what Campbell’s thoughts are on the young Kardashian/Jenner model, but it definitely feels like she’s opting for the age-old adage “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”

The biggest story in fashion this week is undoubtedly Michael Kors acquisition of Versace. Campbell, who was a close friend of Gianni Versace and struggled in the wake of his murder, sees it as a positive move for the fashion world. “I think it’s great for business. It’s good for the industry, and yeah, I’m into it,” she said.

The icon has spoken.
