Things are heating up in the official trailer for Fahrenheit 451—literally, everything is on fire. Michael Bae Jordan is the actor getting things lit as he plays the dystopian firefighter named Guy Montag, one of the many men behind the flames.

The movie, based off of the classic Ray Bradbury book of the same name, follows Jordan as his character begins to question his occupation as a professional book burner. The trailer opens on Montag relishing in his job, preaching over a pile of burning books.

A few cuts (and a brief but notable shirtless shower scene) later we see Montag looking at a library of books wondering if society is doing the right thing by burning all those precious copies of Kafka and Sense and Sensibility. Things get a little smoky when the fire captain Beatty, played by Michael Shannon, becomes suspicious of Guy. All the while Guy’s neighbor Clarisse, played by Sofia Boutella, makes him question if maybe he shouldn’t set books on fire.

The film is being brought to life by HBO and was written and directed by 99 Homes filmmaker Ramin Bahrani.

The film is just one of Jordan’s several new projects, after his equally steamy role as Killmonger in Black Panther, which debuted in February and is about to become the third highest-grossing film in North American history. He’s also currently producing a World War II drama titled The Liberators.

Fahrenheit 451 is set to premiere on HBO at 8 p.m. on May 19th. Watch the official trailer above.
