Kim Kardashian controversy

Kim Kardashian once again finds herself in the center of some controversy. Last night, while dressed up as Pamela Anderson for Kendall’s Halloween party, the beauty mogul captured herself on Instagram calling people the r-word when they couldn’t decipher her outfit. The posts have since been deleted.

As the videos racked up views, people criticized Kim for using a word offensive to those with special needs. "It's 2018, we don't say the r word anymore,” one Twitter user wrote.

@KimKardashian it’s 2018, we don’t say the r word anymore.

@KimKardashian So people that don’t know who you are for Halloween are retarded really!! Smh maybe you should spend time with people with disabilities that way you can show more empathy towards those that are special needs

Kim has since shared her apology with TMZ. "I want to apologize for what I said in a recent video post that is inappropriate and insensitive to the special needs community,” she said. “I try to learn from my mistakes and this is one of those times. Please know that my intention is always pure, and in this case, it was a mistake. I’m sorry."

Hopefully this is a lesson learned for the reality star and anyone else watching.
