The nominees for the 80th Annual Golden Globe Awards were announced on Monday.

As previously reported, George and Mayan Lopez—who currently star together on the NBC series Lopez vs. Lopez—announced the 2023 class of nominees during a special even held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.

Ahead of the unveiling of this year’s nominees, Jerrod Carmichael was announced as the host of the upcoming ceremony, which is slated to be broadcast live on Jan. 10 via NBC and Peacock. Notably, the 2023 edition of the awards show marks a return to being televised after a 2022 boycott spurred by, among other issues, an investigative piece from the Los Angeles Times revealing a lack of Black members in the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

“We’re so excited to have Jerrod Carmichael host the historic 80th Golden Globe Awards,” HFPA president Helen Hoehne said in a statement shared with Complex on Thursday. “His comedic talents have entertained and thrilled audiences while providing thought-provoking moments that are so important in the times we live. Jerrod is the special kind of talent this show calls for to kick off the awards season.”
