Michelle Obama has announced that she will be bringing her first TV series to Instagram later this year. Entitled A Year of Firsts, the Obama-produced series will follow four college freshmen across the United States and will stream on IGTV later this month. The show is set to run until June.

As Forbes reports, the six-episode series is part of her Reach Higher initiative. "The first year of college is exciting, but also a little nerve-racking," Obama wrote on Instagram. "As a first-generation college student myself, I know how intimidating it can be to try to navigate through a new place and make new friends, all while trying to figure out who you are and who you want to be."

Co-produced by ATTN, the show will also delve into mental health, financial concerns and struggles, and academic stress. The four students the series will follow are Robert, Linette, Regan, and Haseeb.

"Can't wait for you all to meet them and learn more about what taking that leap really feels like, day in and day out," Obama added.

Netflix also announced it would release the Michelle and Barack-produced film Crip Camp later this year. The film will follow the story of a group of disabled teenagers attending a summer camp in the 1970s. The project is produced by their production company, Higher Ground, which announced a multi-year partnership with Netflix in 2018.
