Forget about the Golden Globes and whatnot, as the true best film of this or any other year has now been made available for free viewing via YouTube.
To be fair, Threat Level Midnight was certainly not released this year, nor is it real. But The Office fans will recognize the mini-classic as the work of main character Michael Scott, whose script for the inspiring spy thriller was discovered by Pam Beesly in the Season 2 episode "The Client."
In Season 7 of the classic Ricky Gervais adaptation, Scott screens the film for friends. As the A.V. Club notes in their report, the "full" version of Threat Level Midnight was previously only available as a bonus feature on the season 7 DVD release. Now, all can wallow in its 25-minute glory via the YouTube embed up top.
The Office, meanwhile, is set to leave its current (and quite popular) home of Netflix for NBC's new Peacock streaming service in 2021. Talks of a reboot or revisiting of the series have been prevalent, particularly amid streaming wars chatter, though a one-off sequel project of some sort seems like the safer (and likely stronger) bet.
Jenna Fischer told BuzzFeed News back in October that there's "actually a really good idea going around" about a reunion movie, though she and Angela Kinsey declined to go further into detail.
