According to Variety, Hailee Steinfeld has been offered a leading role in Disney+'s upcoming Hawkeyeseries.

The limited series on the soon-to-launch Disney streaming service will once again see Jeremy Renner in the role of the titular hero he's portrayed several times on big screens, including (most recently) in the 2019 mega blockbuster Avengers: Endgame.

Variety reports that, if Steinfeld were to agree to join the series, she would be given the role of Kate Bishop. For those of you who are uninitiated, Bishop is a Marvel character who is set to assume the role of Hawkeye after Renner's character, Clint Barton. In addition to that, Bishop is also a member of the Young Avengers.

Considering the precedent set by Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and pretty much every other actor cast in a Marvel hero role, hiring Steinfeld would likely signify a major investment in the young actress/singer by Marvel.

Playing Bishop would give Steinfeld her second TV starring role, meaning it will come in addition to the lead she'll assume as Emily Dickinson in the upcoming Apple streaming series Dickinson.

Her already extensive acting resume also includes an Oscar-nominated credit in the Coen brothers' film True Grit, a starring role in Bumblebee, and a voice acting part in Spider Man: Into the Spider-Verse. She's also released a number of platinum singles, including: "Love Myself," "Starving," and "Let Me Go."

Disney+ will launch on Nov. 12.
