The John Wick franchise is known for its elaborate action sequences. The car fight in Chapter 1? Incredible. The museum shootout in Chapter 2? Epic. And the killer dog scene in Chapter 3? Nothing short of badass.

Though fans will have to wait until spring 2021 for the next installment, we can expect to see some Wick-esque action on the screen much sooner. According to The Hollywood Reporter, John Wick director Chad Stahelski has been tapped to help craft new action scenes for Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)

The outlet reports Stahelski will oversee second unit photography for the Cathy Yan-directed film, specifically tackling action-packed shoots. Stahelski's role, which will be uncredited, makes sense, as his stunt firm 87Eleven has been involved with the movie since production started.

Birds of Prey will focus on an all-female team of vigilantes led by DC anti-heroine Harley Quinn, portrayed by Margot Robbie. The film will also feature characters like Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and Detective Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), a young Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco), and Roman Sionis, aka Black Mask (Ewan McGregor).

While promoting her new film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Robbie teased the stunts featured in Birds of Prey.

"There are so many. Recently … I can’t talk them, because the movie's not out yet," she told JOE.ie. "There's a lot of really cool stunts in the Birds of Prey movie. Quite a few of them, I couldn't do, 'cause they were just too risky. But no, I'm constantly amazed by stunt performers [...] I have a deep appreciation for it."
