While it's not exactly in the realm of Ryan Reynolds jumping from Green Lantern to Deadpool, at least not yet, Jason Momoa said that he'd love to play Wolverine. Guess there's just something about that role.

Momoa shared as much when he was asked what MCU character he'd love to play while he was in San Antonio at Celebrity Fan Fest. His answer was not ambiguous. "Wolverine. Oh I'd love to play Wolverine," he said. He also offered praise to Hugh Jackman, who is now retired from the role, saying "He was phenomenal. I grew up just loving Wolverine."

As you're probably aware, Momoa is currently under contract as Aquaman, so it's unlikely he's going to be crossing over from DC to Marvel anytime soon. So, while eventually they're going to install a post-Jackman actor in the iconic part, Momoa's actively a part of the DCEU. As they say, timing is everything.

Prior to becoming the tank version of DC's ocean-dwelling fish-talking and whatever other powers he has hero, Momoa was reportedly in talks to snag the role of Drax in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxyuniverse. That part eventually went to Dave Bautista. At the time, a bunch of reports came in trying to explain why Momoa didn't join that franchise, including one that said he wasn't looking to play another brute at that particular moment, while another said that he was simply passed upon.
