Marvel continues to dominate the domestic box office as Avengers: Endgame tops sales for the third weekend in a row.The blockbuster brought in close to $63 million in North America, according to reports.

When Endgame opened last month, it broke records by amassing $1.2 billion globally. It's currently en route to overtaking2009's Avatar as the highest-grossing film of all time. Endgame is also the fastest film to eclipse the $2 billion mark.

Though it's pretty far from Endgame's success (just like every other movie ever created), Pokémon Detective Pikachu performed better than expected. The Warner Bros. film followed Endgame as the country's No. 2 film, raking in an estimated $58 million. This exceeded predictions that the movie would make $50-55 million in its first weekend. Although Pokémon isn't quite the phenomenon it once was, it's still a strong enough brand to bring in an audience.

Detective Pikachu is the first of May's big movie releases. The highly anticipated movies John Wick: Chapter 3 - ParabellumAladdin, and Godzilla: King of Monsters are coming in the next few weeks.
