You won't find me praising nostalgia anytime soon, but I'm not going to diss Stranger Things for its decidedly retro aesthetic. The show actually uses its nostalgic sheen in a non-boring way, including with this just-released trailer for a forthcoming video game that's decidedly retro-er.

The game was teased at the Game Awards Thursday night and marks a collaborative effort between Netflix and Bonus XP. In a statement to Complex, a Netflix rep described the interestingly titled Stranger Things 3: The Game as a "meticulously crafted Action Adventure RPG that pays homage to the 16-bit era" without sacrificing modern gaming mechanics.

Xbox One, PS4, and Switch users can expect to get their chance in Hawkins in 2019. Netflix is also dropping a "streamlined" version of the game for smartphones. As for what to expect story-wise, the new game will follow the events of the forthcoming third season, which is also expected to be released at some point next year. Previously, the Duffer Brothers' creation resulted in the BAFTA-nominated Stranger Things: The Game, which launched ahead of season 2 and has since amassed more than 10 million players.

Wrap-celebrating photos from Millie Bobby Brown and other stars recently sent fans down a rabbit hole of speculation about the series' end. However, per David Harbour, we're at least getting four seasons before the Duffers say goodbye to Netflix's biggest hit.
