With the release of DC and Warner Bros. new superhero saga Aquaman just around the corner, Jimmy Fallon invited the film's star, Jason Momoa, to the show for a trident throwing contest. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Fallon himself doesn't fare too well, especially compared to Momoa, who looks born to play the underwater king.

In the film, Momoa's titular character is rarely without his trident, so it makes sense that he learned how to throw them properly in real life. To say that it wasn't a fair match is putting it lightly, but Fallon is a great sport nonetheless. The whole thing was a done deal the moment Momoa removed part of his top and revealed his hulking physique, as Fallon's face spelled game over.

The Aquaman actor is everywhere right now, as we inch closer to Aquaman's Dec. 21 release. In fact, he'll host this weekend's episode of Saturday Night Live, and judging from just how much fun he was having tormenting Fallon, it'll be must-see TV. The promos alone indicate that he's not holding anything back, which bodes well for his SNL debut.

The early reactions to Aquaman have been positive, which bodes well for the oft-maligned DC and for Momoa, who looks like a movie star-in-the-making.
