Pete Davidson is reportedly nixing an SNL skit referencing his breakup with Ariana Grande after the singer got upset over this week’s promo where he jokingly proposes to Maggie Rogers.

According to TMZ, the couple agreed mutually to not discuss their breakup in public, but Davidson was the first to break his silence during a charity event in NYC. Grande allegedly felt “betrayed” after that performance, and was even more upset when she saw the promo. In response, Davidson rightfully decided it would be best not to use their personal life for comedic ends, and Lorne Michaels agreed to cut the skit.

Grande threw shade at Davidson last night after the promo for Saturday’s episode dropped. In the video, Pete asks Maggie to marry him and then responded "0 for 3" when the singer declined.

"For somebody who claims to hate relevancy u sure love clinging to it huh. thank u. next,” Grande wrote in a since deleted tweet.

Davidson previously joked about his relationship with Grande while the two were still together. The SNL cast conveniently had the weekend off after the reported breakup last month, and if the report is true, we shouldn't expect it to be mentioned during Saturday's show.
