Han Solo’s ‘Return of the Jedi’ Blaster Sold for $550,000 at Vegas Auction

The blaster used by Han Solo in the Star Wars film Return of the Jedi was sold at an auction in Las Vegas on Saturday for $550,000, according to the Associated Press. The mostly wooden prop weapon, which was bought by Ripley’s Believe It or Not, was part of the nearly 40-item collection from the movie’s art director James L. Schoppe. Other items related to Jedi offered by Julian's Auctions included an original Imperial Scout Trooper Blaster and an Ewok prop ax was sold for $90,000 and $11,000, respectively.

An original Superman costume worn by Christopher Reeve for Superman III was also sold yesterday for $200,000.

As impressive as the haul for the Han Solo blaster was, it came nowhere close to eclipsing the seven-figure number put up in an auction last year. Last June, an R2-D2 unit seen in a number of Star Wars films was sold for $2.76 million.
