Arnold Schwarzenegger has had emergency open-heart surgery, TMZ wrote. Schwarzenegger reportedly had a catheter valve replacement on Thursday at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles. The 70-year-old actor is experiencing complications after the surgery, which is partially experimental.

Doctors were prepared just in case Schwarzenegger's catheter valve replacement failed. They apparently made the decision to perform open-heart surgery quickly. The surgery lasted several hours, according to TMZ. The site has been told that Schwarzenegger is in stable condition.

In 1997, Schwarzenegger underwent surgery to replace an aortic valve. He decided to go through with the surgery while he was young, although the doctors did not think it was an urgent matter.

In February, it was announced that Schwarzenegger will star in and executive produce an Amazon miniseries. Outrider is a dark Wild West mystery set in the 1800s in Oklahoma. The former California governor will play a federal marshal who teams up with a local deputy to track down a famous outlaw. The release date of Outrider has not yet been announced.

This series marks Schwarzenegger's first moment in scripted TV; he recently did one season of NBC’s The Celebrity Apprentice which he both starred in and produced after replacing Donald Trump. Schwarzenegger has been consistently outspoken against the president, who openly criticized the actor's low Apprentice ratings.

Last year, Schwarzenegger fired back by criticizing Trump's low approval ratings. "The ratings are in, and you got swamped," Schwarzenegger said. "Wow. Now you're in the 30s? But what do you expect? I mean, you take away after-school programs for children and Meals on Wheels for the poor people. That's not what you call 'making America great again.' Come on!" Schwarzenegger also blamed the low ratings if The Celebrity Apprentice on Trump, and said people won't watch a show associated with the president.
