#NODISRESPECTTOBENAFFLECK and #ALLDISRESPECTTOJIMMYKIMMEL, am I right?

In more ways than one, 2013 was a much simpler time. Most notably, however, 2013 was the year of Yeezus.

Months after what is still arguably the punkest album in recent history, Kanye West was engaged in a brief but memorable feud with Jimmy Kimmel. Kimmel, for whatever reason, had decided that spoofing West's iconic Yeezus-era Zane Lowe interview was a good idea. As Kimmel quickly found out, the attempted spoof was in fact a very bad idea.

In the midst of this public spat, West delivered one of his all-time tweets:

JIMMY KIMMEL PUT YOURSELF IN MY SHOES…OH NO THAT MEANS YOU WOULD HAVE GOTTEN TOO MUCH GOOD PUSSY IN YOUR LIFE

Fucking iconic as hell. Monday night, Kim Kardashian read West's tweet as part of a birthday-themed edition of Kimmel's "Mean Tweets" segment. For Kimmel's 50th birthday throwdown, the Jimmy Kimmel Live host was surprised with a special edition of the long-running segment featuring some very special tweets recited by Kardashian, Larry David, Jon Stewart, Tracy Morgan, David Letterman, Jennifer Lawrence, Stephen Colbert, Halle Berry, Howard Stern, Will Ferrell, and many more.

Now, far be it from me to tell a late night talk show how to operate, but perhaps a stronger theme here would have been to just have the same group of Very Important People recite West's 2013 tweetstorm in full. Though the tweets no longer exist in their original form (West's account has been deactivated for quite some time), transcripts abound. Lest we forget, the tweets also included the hashtags #NODISRESPECTTOBENAFFLECK and #ALLDISRESPECTTOJIMMYKIMMEL.
