A wedding reception in Alaska was mired by tragedy on Sunday when the bride's father died in a plane crash after doing a flyover. The 54-year-old father's Cessna 206 suffered drastic damage shortly after the flyover due to its landing gear reportedly striking several trees, according to the New York Post.

National Transportation Safety Board investigators are reportedly scouting the crash site, an offroad area in Trapper Creek roughly 120 miles north of Anchorage. The body has already been recovered and obtained by the local medical examiner's office.

Though the name of the deceased pilot has not been released to the press, his family has been notified of the currently known specifics surrounding the tragic crash.
