Tom Cruise's willingness to dangle from large airplanes might suggest otherwise, but the Mission: Impossible film series is just one year shy of turning 20. Though the fifth installment in the lucrative franchise (Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation) hasn't even landed in theaters yet, Tracking Board is reporting that a sixth Impossible is already in development.

Paramount, Bad Robot, and Skydance Productions are reportedly "in motion" on a sixth installment — with Cruise, J.J. Abrams, David Ellison, and Dana Goldberg returning as producers. No casting information is available, though we can probably expect further expanding of the Mission: Impossible universe beyond simply Ethan Hunt and company.

Of course, Bad Robot — in addition to reaping Cruise receipts in July with Rogue Nation — are already enjoying quite the year ahead of the release of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.
