Gunman Killed, Two Officers Wounded in Shooting Inside of Minnesota City Building

The two officers had just been sworn in.

Two police officers were wounded in Minnesota last night after an armed man opened fire during a swearing-in ceremony inside of the town's City Hall. The gunmen was subsequently killed by other officers. 

CBS Minnesota reports that two officers were being sworn in by the New Hope City Council around 7 p.m. Just as the officers were departing the meeting, they were accosted by an unidentified gunman, who shot both of them. Other officers returned fire, killing the man.

Hennepin County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Mike Carlson told CBS Minnesota that both officers were in good condition following the shooting. 

Video of the incident shows council members ducking for cover after multiple gunshots are heard.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office told CBS Minnesota that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
