Assassin's Creed is Ubisoft's top selling franchise with 73 million copies of the series' games, according to a fact sheet from the company.

Just behind Assassin's Creed are Just Dance with 48 million copies and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell with 30 million copies.

The original Assassin's Creed released in 2007 for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 and his since spawned multiple sequels and spinoffs. Last year, Ubisoft shipped Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, following pirate Edward Kenway in the 1700's. A new game in the series for next gen systems, codenamed Unity, is rumored to launch this year and take place during the French Revolution.

Ubisoft is also working on a movie based on the franchise starring Michael Fassbender, who will also be producing.
