As 2013 draws to a close, we look back on a year that—for all the music industry’s struggles to adapt to new models of music consumption—was absolutely packed full of powerful albums and brilliant songs. Established artists continued to impress, new artists burst onto the scene, and genre lines were blurred more than ever before.
Whatever sort of music you enjoy, there was lots to get excited about in 2013, and this Soundcloud playlist provides a neat summation of why it was such a good year.
