The Weeknd's tour dates have moved

The Weeknd’s tour is getting bigger, while moving further away.

The music superstar announced that the newly titled After Hours Til Dawn Tour is moving from arenas to stadiums in the summer of 2022.

While the Weeknd hasn’t announced his newly rescheduled dates just yet, he explains on social media that they’re “forthcoming.”

“Due to constraints of arenas and the demand for more shows I want to do something bigger and special for you which requires stadiums,” the Super Bowl halftime show headliner, who is no stranger to winning over stadiums, wrote.

The Weeknd also posted a short clip online, teasing some new material and showing a lit-up stadium with the new tour’s logo displayed at the end.

As Abel notes, current ticket holders for the arena tour will be refunded automatically, while being given priority to purchase new seats for the stadium shows.

The previously titled After Hours Tour has had an unfortunate history so far, after being scheduled to kick off initially in June of 2020 and being postponed twice amid the pandemic. Opening acts were supposed to be Sabrina Claudio and Don Toliver in North America, while Claudio and Black Atlass were set to hold things down in Europe. The tour was intended to kick off in January 2022 in Vancouver.

Things have been busy for the Weeknd. Earlier this month, he was announced as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations World Food Programme. His new title comes after he gave to numerous humanitarian causes throughout his career, and recently donated $1 million to the U.N. World Food Programme’s work in Ethiopia.

“The U.N. World Food Programme is doing urgent and important work to change and save lives on a daily basis and I feel passionately about addressing world hunger and helping people in need,” Tesfaye said. “Our partnership is an authentic extension of all our efforts and intentions to help those in need and bring an end to so much suffering.”

Keep an eye out for the Weeknd’s new tour dates and as he continues to roll out his new era
