UPDATED 2/23, 10:35 a.m. ET: The battery case against Slim Jxmmi was dropped.

Citing legal documents, TMZ reports that “prosecutors in Florida say they do not have a good faith basis to file any battery charges” as the Rae Sremmurd member’s girlfriend recanted her claim shortly after alleging she was on the receiving end of an attack.

UPDATED 1/26, 4:37 p.m. ET: TMZ, citing a rep for the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, reports Slim Jxmmi’s girlfriend has gone on record to recant her story of what happened during a court hearing. The rapper has been released on $2,500 bond and will be wearing a GPS tracking device for now.

Slim Jxmmi was arrested in Miami after allegedly attacking his girlfriend, with whom he shares a son, TMZ reports.

His girlfriend told authorities that the two first started bickering when she asked him about a woman that he follows on Twitter.

The Rae Sremmurd rapper then left with a friend and returned smelling like alcohol, which is when the assault allegedly happened. His girlfriend said that when she tried to move their son to his bed, Jxmmi came at her, first pulling on her hair so hard that he tore the extensions from her head. She then attempted to record the attack on her phone, but that upset him more, and when she locked herself in a room, he kicked down a door, took her phone, and tossed it from a balcony.

He apparently didn’t want her to post any footage she captured to social media. Police later found the phone on the street near the couple’s home, and it was still intact.

After news of Slim Jxmmi’s arrest broke, his girlfriend denied reports that he struck her, and singled out local police in particular. “Oh wow. This is cap. Dade County y’all are wrong for this,” she wrote, per TMZ. “I told you guys he did not hit me. Every officer you guys had in my face are wrong for this. No hands were put on anybody, I stated it more than once. It was a loud argument and the police were called. You guys turn nothing into something. It’s our sons first birthday tomorrow, what’s wrong with y’all?”
