Retch should be home soon. The New Jersey rapper got himself jammed up on a probation violation last year and was forced to do a little skid bid, but he’s ready and itching to get back to the music. We talked to Retch over the phone late last year and he mentioned that he had music ready to go at a moment’s notice. Little did we know, some of that music was a tape entirely produced by V Don.

The Harlem producer has built a name for himself by sourcing and A&Ring his projects on his own, and he’s finally starting to see the recogition he so richly deserves. Many folks beg Retch to get back to his roots and he’s giving them what they want with “Shiesty” as V Don laces Retch’s machine gun flow and Maxo Kream’s distinctive cadence with some East Coast back block music.

If this single is a sign of things to come, then we should be in for a good one. A Retch and V Don tape is just what the streets need and I’m expecting them to deliver.

V Don told us how everything came together:

“Me and Retch flew out to Atlanta to knock out the project. Once we got to the studio he played me a few songs he recently recorded, including a few he did with Maxo. I heard the verses to one record and told him we’re using this one for our project, and I made the ‘Shiesty’ beat from scratch, and the record turned out crazy!”

You can stream or purchase “Shiesty” tonight on DSPs and Gone ‘Til Autumn drops July 23.
