The Nigerian artist dropped his latest cut on Friday, tapping both JB and his go-to “Peaches” producer Harv along with Avedon to hit it out of the park. The track—set to tie in with Lay’s upcoming spring debut album Boy Alone—finds the Biebs in unfamiliar territory as he croons through his lower register and carries the track’s first verse. But it isn’t his first run-in with Afrobeats after a couple team-ups with BEAM in 2021; Bieber also hopped on the official remix for Wizkid’s “Essence.”
This also isn’t Lay’s first time linking with Bieber, as they both shared space on the Masterkraft “Peaches” remix. But the 24-year-old singer is still ready to introduce more of himself to the world ahead of his tour to promote Boy Alone, and two years after he first took off with EPs Get Layd and What Have We Done.
“‘Attention’ is a record I’m really excited about, I had fun making that one,” Omah Lay told Complex. “It was really cool having Justin Bieber on the record and knowing he loves my music like I love his. He’s a great guy! I couldn’t wait for the world to hear it and hope everyone loves it as much as I loved making it.”
A behind-the-scenes clip from the music video shoot can be seen below via Instagram.
Last year, Omah Lay caught up with Complex UK to discuss the importance of living in Lagos, and how Nigeria’s influence on popular music is reaching new levels. “Lagos provided me the exposure to opportunities that I needed to launch my career,” he said. “It’s an important city in that sense, because it brings you closer to experiences that can shape your relationships and your sound.”

Omah Lay is set to hit the road for a world tour later this month; tickets and more information can be found on his official website.
