Lil Nas X opened up about what it was like to meet Frank Ocean, one of his biggest idols, at the Met Gala earlier this month.

Both X and Frank showed up in some of the Met Gala’s most talked about outfits, and during the event the two had a chance to get acquainted for the first time. When asked by Andy Cohen on SiriusXM what it was like to meet one of his idols, the Montero artist made it clear it was a big moment for him.

“I feel like I’ve met so many great people, but definitely Frank Ocean is top of my list because for one, you know, he represents a lot to me and you’d never see Frank Ocean anywhere. Like he’s one of those people that are not real, you know?” he added. “Outside of social media that was the first time we met, like, ever.”

The Blonde-creator appeared in X’s celeb-filled photo dump from the event, as did Billie Eilish, Lil Uzi Vert, Jack Harlow, Pete Davidson, Timothée Chalamet, and more. Nas said he and Frank exchanged praise, and that he told Ocean he’d like to collab.

“We just like, you know, [he was] giving props and congratulations and whatnot. And I was just saying the same thing to him,” he said. “And just like how much, like his music has shaped my life and whatnot, and hoping to collaborate with him. You know, I was, I was telling him that too.”

In an interview with Zane Lowe last year, the Montero artist said that Frank Ocean and Tyler, the Creator “made it easier for me to be where I am comfortably.” He continued, “Also ‘Provider’ was a very special song to me during this relationship I was in. So yeah, go Frank, he’s amazing.”

Elsewhere in his chat with Cohen, Nas opened up about his relationship status, saying he’s happy being single.

“I was seeing someone. Um, I kind of decided I didn’t want to anymore,” he answered when Cohen said he heard X was seeing someone. “I don’t think I want any guy right now. You know, maybe, maybe, maybe I’m floating around right now. I’m just having, I just want to have—I just want to work on music and every now and then, you know, maybe I’ll kiss a guy, every blue moon, you know.”
