Juicy J’s controversial medical advice has landed him in hot water.

The Three 6 Mafia member took to Twitter on Friday, advising his fans to think twice before getting a COVID-19 vaccine. Juicy told his followers that instead of getting the shot, they should simply continue taking precautionary measures like wearing masks and taking supplements.

“If I was you, I wouldn’t get vaccinated,” he wrote in the since-deleted tweet. “I would wear a mask & take vitamins.”

Top U.S. health experts say the coronavirus vaccines are essential in combating the global pandemic, which has claimed more than 547,000 lives in the country. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it takes about two weeks after vaccination for the body to build immunity to the virus. Experts estimate between 70 to 90 percent of the population must be immune to reach the herd immunity threshold.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has urged the public to get vaccinated as soon as possible. There are currently three vaccines that have been approved for emergency use in the country: the Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and Moderna vaccines.

“If you go to a place and you have J&J, and that’s the one that’s available now, I would take it,” Fauci said last month, as reported by CNBC. “I personally would do the same thing. I think people need to get vaccinated as quickly and as expeditiously as possible … You now have three highly efficacious vaccines, for sure. There’s no doubt about that.”

Juicy’s anti-vaccine take was, unsurprisingly, met with mixed reactions. While some co-signed his advice, others criticized his tweet as both dangerous and hypocritical, pointing to the countless drug references in his catalog.

You can check out some of the reactions below.
