Canadian voice actor Eric Bauza will be hosting an upcoming six-part CBC Gem series Stay Tooned that looks at how some of the world’s biggest animated series have shaped society.

Making the announcement official via his Instagram page, Bauza says that the show will “take viewers on a deep dive through some animated favourites to explore how these cartoons have shaped society while also helping to provide an understanding of the social and political worlds in which we live.”

Bauza has been a voice actor for several decades now. The comedian is most well-known for his role as Stimpy in Ren and Stimpy “Adult Party Cartoon,” along with being the voice of Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and multiple other characters in Space Jam: A New Legacy.

He won’t be alone, either, Special guests include Ben Schwartz, Lake Bell, Ken Jeong, Bobby Moynihan, Tara Strong, Lamorne Morris, Cree Summer, and James Adomian.

Bauza’s Toronto-based retro clothing brand Retrokid also made an announcement of the upcoming show.

“I will always be a fan first of the Looney Tunes, but to know that I’ve now put my thumbprint on characters that helped raise me, you know, and helped teach me how to be funny… to know that I’m associated with these characters, that are older than some of our relatives—like Bugs Bunny just turned 80 years old last year and we’re still talking about him. It’s just a testament to the heart and soul that Mel Blanc put into not just Bugs Bunny, but Daffy Duck or Tweety Bird or Marvin the Martian,” Bauza said in an interview with Complex Canada in 2021.

The show will be available to stream on Dec. 2 on CBC Gem.
