Here Are the Betting Odds on New 2020 Albums From Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, and More

If 2020 doesn't bring us new Rihanna, we might as well give up on Earth altogether.

As we limp our way to the halfway mark of the first month of a new year, we can at least take solace amid near-constant existential crises about one 2020 guarantee: We're again going to get a lot of remarkable new music.

Just last Friday, Selena Gomez came through with her new Kid Cudi-featuring album Rare. This week, meanwhile, brings the posthumous Mac Miller album Circles and Halsey's Manic. The first few weeks of the new year also haven't slacked in terms of new singles, as we are now once more under the welcomed spell of Future and Drake's collaborative charisma by way of the contagiously celebratory "Life Is Good."

With much of what else 2020 has in store still awaiting firm release dates, and actual confirmations of their existence in many cases, one might as well get in on the anticipatory action by getting inundated with the betting odds for the possibility of new albums from a variety of artists via Bovada.

Things look very good indeed for our chances on getting a new Rihanna album this year. The Anti follow-up, at least based on these odds, is highly likely to make its way to the charts at some point this year. The album will be Rihanna's ninth, and has been teased at various stages of the recording process for quite some time now. Though nothing is known about what form the album's final cut will take, previous talks of the nicknamed R9 have seen the singer describing this chapter as "reggae-inspired."

Other safe bets for eventual spots on the 2020 release agenda include Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Frank Ocean, and J. Cole. Cole, of course, has practically confirmed as much.

On the opposite side of 2020 hype is the predicted absence of new albums this year from JAY-Z, Post Malone, Lil Nas X, and more. Kids See Ghosts, the two-piece project co-fronted by Kanye West and Cudi, are also (per the odds, at least) unlikely to roll out a sequel to their acclaimed 2018 debut this year. Thankfully, that doesn't rule out KSG 2 for good, as Cudi himself has teased that he and 'Ye do want to continue their work as a duo.
