The visual for the critically acclaimed album's closing track stars Ron Perlman, Jesse Williams, Emile Hirsch, Edi Gathegi, Kwame Boateng, and Jonathan Tucker. 4:44 cuts "Smile" and "Marcy Me" were also given the visual treatment.
We first learned of Perlman and Hirsch linking up for Jay's expansive 4:44 rollout back in June, before the album had even been released. Samuel shared a slew of on-set images on social media, confirming that something was afoot. Now, we know exactly what that something was.
The 4:44 Tour is currently underway and will next hit Washington D.C. Nov. 29 following a three-day break. The two-month trek comes to a close Dec. 21 at the Forum in Los Angeles, California. The tour has repeatedly made headlines, including for Jay's approach to ingeniously fucking over ticket scalpers and for his show-stopping comments on social justice issues.
During a recent 4:44 Tour stop in Miami, for example, Jay discussed the "human issue" at the center of NFL protests.
"When people are kneeling and putting their fists up and doing what they're doing, it's not about the flag," he told the crowd. "It's about justice. It's about injustice."
