After riding the success of his self-titled debut album, AJ Tracey has reinvigorated the hype with a "Ladbroke Grove" remix. Joined by grime MC Novelist and junglist General Levy, AJ has recruited well to fit the vibey UK garage track.
Produced by Conducta, "Ladbroke Grove" samples Jorja Smith's "Wandering Romance"—and to great effect: the British singer's filtered vocals complement the new flavours that both Nov and The General bring to the table. Mixing the unique, liquid-like flow of the Lewisham MC with the jungle veteran's bars, the homage to UKG is certainly enriched with these new additions.
AJ's album, which peaked at number three in the charts, is still exercising its excellence. Singles such as "Butterflies" (featuring Not3s) have racked up over 600,000 sales, already going platinum. Next stop: the world.
