From Mogadishu to Manchester (by way of Denmark), rapper HMD has a fairly unique journey and perspective, and manages to fuse that all into his blend of gritty rap with a surprisingly soulful edge. Following on from his debut set, W16NTER—which dropped earlier in the year—it's another dark, introspective effort here on "Baranoid", as HMD impressively holds flow over rattling trap drums in the ends-meets-forest-set visuals.
Speaking with Complex via email, HMD shed some light on the creation of the Sleazy F Baby-assisted track: "'Baranoid' was made during a turbulent time in which trust was an issue... I channeled this energy how I know best. The connection with Sleazy is one from the ends before we both started our journeys, so it was befitting to synch on this record."
