A video uploaded to TikTok allegedly shows a car Playboi Carti was riding in driving away as Nardwuar geared up to interview him at Summer Smash.
The video, originally posted by the now-deleted TikTok user e63s_soon, shows a cameraman filming Nardwuar as he approaches a vehicle that Playboi Carti was supposedly riding in.
Though it never quite shows Carti's face, you can see the passenger-side window rolling up as the legendary Vancouver journalist gets closer to try and speak to him.
Security at the venue then blocked Nardwuar from inching closer to the vehicle as it begins to drive away. The RapTV Twitter account claims that Nardwuar was trying to give Carti a gift.
Neither Carti nor Nardwuar have commented on the alleged incident.
Though his planned interview with Carti fell through, a separate interview with Lil Uzi Vert went much better.
Nardwuar gave the Philadelphia rapper a Rob Zombie that had them screeching out of excitement.
Lil Uzi Vert then asks him, "Where have you been?"
"Vancouver, B.C., Canada," Narwuar replied.
The two then embrace before Nardwuar hands Uzi memorabilia from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, "one of the best movies" Uzi ever saw in their life.
Nardwuar was all over Summer Smash in Chicago: he also joined Ski Mask the Slump God on stage.
Though Playboi Carti doesn't have a set release date for any new music, Uzi's Pink Tape will drop on June 30.
