Zeds Dead and Omar LinX have been dropping heat with each other for the last few years. They not only dropped the free Victor EP with Jeffrees, but they put out The Living Dead last summer, which featured this anthemic dubstep/hip-hop hybrid track "Cowboy." Remixes for this tune have been hitting the Internets since last summer, with UZ's remix popping up during his mix for UKF Podcast. Today, Ultra released an EP for "Cowboy" remixes, featuring alternate takes from UZ, DC Breaks, Congorock, and Torro Torro.

Of course UZ twisted this dubstep monster into a huge trap slapper, bouncing the heavy dubstep bassline into a banging melody, then chopping Omar's lyrics into a boastful mantra.

DC Breaks, another one of Ram Records' signees, flipped "Cowboy" into an upfront drum & bass beast. The way they treated the lyrics, it feels like the way Urban Takeover would treat rap remixes in the '90s.

Torro Torro, fresh off their "Clarity" remix, drop an intense electro house version, warping the bassline into an ultimate party starter.

For the final version, Congorock turned this one into a nasty moombah-charged winner. It's awesome to hear what capable artists can do with an obvious winner. While some producers will use a small part of the source material, Zeds Dead picked guys who knew how to blend their sounds with the original and make it work for their genre, while still maintaining what made "Cowboy" ring off.
