The Canadian crew known as Keys N Krates have been on their grind for some time, helping perfect the idea of what live electronic music should look and sound like. After all of this time, they're only now coming 'round to drop their debut album, Cura, which Steve Aoki's Dim Mak imprint will release sometime in early 2018.
After celebrating Boxing Day with a dope "Flue Loop," they're back with some truly beautiful hip-hop vibes on "Do What U Do." When asked about the soulful new tune, KNK member Jr, Flo says they "wanted to channel the spirit of Dilla and Premier. We drew from their style of quirky swung sample chops to create a fun, summery vibe in the first half of the song switching to a more intense cinematic vibe in the second half of the song."
They truly encapsulated the spirit of two of hip-hop's most legendary beatsmiths. If you like what you're hearing, you can check these three out live, doing what they do best.
