UPDATED 6/30, 10:50 a.m.: On Late Night with Seth Meyers, Machine Gun Kelly offered a quick explanation for his bloody moment.

“You know when you clink a champagne glass with a fork to kind of get people’s attention?” MGK asked the host on Wednesday. “Yeah, I didn’t have a fork. So I just clinked it on my head.”

Meyers hilariously responded, “OK. That’s, uh…in medicine they call that ‘asking for it.’”

“Yeah, so I had a serious case of that last night,” the artist/actor said with a laugh.

Watch the clip—which also features MGK talking about his new album, hopping between genres, buying an accordion, and his fiancée Megan Fox—above.

Machine Gun Kelly shared a video of himself smashing a champagne glass on his forehead and gushing blood from the wound during an afterparty in New York City Tuesday night.

According to Page Six, MGK was delivering a speech to the crowd when he said, “I don’t give a fuck, bro. I don’t give a shit,” before breaking the glass over his face and performing “My Ex’s Best Friend” as blood streamed down his face.

MGK shared a series of photos from his wild night in NYC, some of which show the wound just above his right eyebrow, as well as the bloody aftermath.

Machine Gun Kelly also displayed some bizarre antics during his show at Madison Square Garden earlier that night. Page Six reports MGK stormed off the stage towards the end of his set to confront a male employee, but was held back by a security guard. His band played during the altercation until he returned to the stage only to smash a guitar.

MGK’s documentary Life in Pink was released on Hulu earlier this week. In the doc, the “Bloody Valentine” artist recounts how a growing sense of paranoia combined with him trying to come to terms with his father’s death resulted in a phone call with fiancée Megan Fox where he put the barrel of a shotgun in his mouth and threatened to kill himself.

The incident and subsequent conversations with Fox and his daughter about his behavior compelled him to “kick the drugs.”
