Rapper J Stash died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on New Year’s Day after he allegedly shot and killed a woman in front of her three children, KTLA 5 reports

Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were responding to a domestic violence call early Saturday morning when they discovered the bodies of 27-year-old Jeanette Gallegos and 28-year-old J Stash, who was most notably associated with Rich the Kid as a former Rich Forever label signee, inside the Temple City home.

Gallegos was found with multiple gunshot wounds, leading authorities to initially suspect that J Stash, born Justin Joseph, fatally shot her before turning the gun on himself. “Right now, the evidence at the scene and the preliminary information we have from the children in the home is that it’s a murder-suicide,” said Lt. Derrick Alfred.”

A firearm was recovered at the scene.

Authorities removed the three children, ranging in ages from 5 to 11, from the home. Gallegos was the mother of the kids, who were unharmed and believed to live in the residence. HNHH notes some reports Stash and Gallegos were dating, but it hasn’t been confirmed.
