We’re still waiting on more news on this elusive collab mixtape that Unknown T and Digga D supposedly have in the pipeline, but we do at least have one joint effort from them. “Adolescence” just dropped and it sees the pair take on the instrumental from Giggs and Dubz’s road rap classic, “Pain Is The Essence”.

Lifted from Giggs and Dubz’s 2007-released project, ‘Ard Bodied, “Pain Is The Essence” is one of those tracks that will forever be remembered in the history books, a consistent presence in lists of the most influential tracks from the genre.

Putting their own stamp on it, however, appears to have been a breeze for the pair, swapping war stories and tales from their younger years as if the beat had always been theirs. Giggs and Dubz seem to approve; Hollowman introduces the track, passing the baton to the next generation, while Dubs jumps in to offer his blessing at the end.

While we wait to see if this will appear on either a collab tape or Unknown T’s impending solo project, we do at least have the video from Dir.Lx to contend ourselves with. Appropriately dark and gloomy for the time of year, we follow the pair as they ride out in expensive cars, the rain lashing the blacked-out windows, before they hop out to perform in front of a black-and-white Union Jack.

Peep the visuals for “Adolescence” above and be sure to add the song to your playlists.
