This year marks the 50th anniversary of the birth of hip-hop—that fateful day in 1973 when DJ Kool Herc took to the decks for the Back To School Jam on Sedgwick Avenue in the Bronx.

As part of the celebrations, Yonkers trio The LOX are coming to Indigo at the O2 in London on May 17 for a massive celebration of their enduring legacy and the history of hip-hop. Coincidentally, this year also marks 25 years since the release of their Platinum-selling debut album, Money, Power & Respect.

Sheek Louch, Styles P, and Jadakiss were also part of the massive celebration of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary at this year’s Grammys alongside fellow legends including Questlove, Method Man, Public Enemy, Missy Elliot, Busta Rhymes, Run DMC, Ice-T and Queen Latifah.

On what to expect from the show, Jadakiss said: “The LOX are about showmanship, brotherhood and the craft. We love bringing our show to the UK, and we know how much y’all love hip-hop in London. It’s gonna be special to celebrate 50 years of hip-hop with you London, are you ready for The LOX?”
