Premiere: Toronto's Jonah Yano And Nono Link Up For Delicate And Heartfelt "Perfume"

If the Toronto-based auteur can ignore the pressure and keep going as he is, then 2019 and the years to come will be very, very big for him indeed.

Toronto-based artist Jonah Yano is building up momentum in advance of his debut EP and today he's revealing the project's second single, "Perfume". The new track, featuring Noah "Nono" Williams, follows on from the BADBADNOTGOOD-assisted "Nervous" from earlier in the year. "Perfume" contains his unique blend of soulful melodies, crunchy rap beats and jazzy electronics, but keeps them restrained to maximise on what is clearly a fruitful "less is more" approach. Despite having just one official release under his belt, Yano has nevertheless caused a stir, finding fans in the likes of Virgil Abloh and Gilles Peterson. If the Toronto-based auteur can ignore the pressure and keep going as he is, then 2019 and the years to come will be very, very big for him indeed.
