The Elusive Dean Blunt Rounds Up Skepta, Novelist & A$AP Rocky For "London Tonight Freestyle"

As is the case with a lot of Dean Blunt releases, the track landed with zero prior warning but was soon deleted—and then we heard nothing until this weekend.

Back in July this year, enigmatic former Hype Williams frontman Dean Blunt leaked a surprise collaboration with Skepta, Novelist and A$AP Rocky via his own YouTube channel.

As is the case with a lot of Dean Blunt releases, the track landed with zero prior warning but was soon deleted. Not long after, Novelist tweeted, “Dean Blunt leaked our song. A$AP Rocky, Skepta & Novelist.” And then, in a since-deleted post, said: “I aspire for Dean Blunt level mystery.”

And that was about all we heard until this week, when the track was officially released (hopefully not to be deleted again, but who can say for certain?). The new track features Skep, Nov and Rocky all on mic duties with Blunt handling production.

Ever the man of mystery, Dean Blunt has been pretty prolific this year, self-releasing covers of alt-rockers Queens Of The Stone Age and PJ Harvey, and last year he he released Black Metal 2, the follow-up to 2014’s Black Metal.
