Real Boston Richey has been cleared for drug conspiracy following a retrial in his criminal case.
Per documents obtained by Complex, Richey, real name Jalen Taheen Foster, along with co-defendants Rayshun Foster, D’Anthony Swatzie, and Jerdy Miller Jr., was acquitted following a week-long trial in Tallahassee, Florida. The decision was made on Tuesday, February 3, bringing a close to Richey’s federal criminal case, which began in 2023.
Richey faced a charge of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute marijuana. Last August, the “Help Me” rapper was found not guilty of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking offense. Also cleared of the same charges was Foster, also known as Real Boston Glizzy. The jury was deadlocked on one charge, which led to the retrial that ended this week.
Following this second trial’s conclusion, Richey posted photos of himself and his legal team outside of the courthouse. “What’s the point of fighting a nigga like mayweather when we done beat the Feds," he captioned the post. “2 Times they say it’s only nice if you can do it twice ALL CHARGES DROPPED no more Feds!!!! leg monitor GONE🏁 Thank God for the amzing lawyers He Blessed Up With.”
The defendants were accused of "knowingly and willfully" banding together to "distribute and possess with intent [to] distribute a controlled substance."
Richey was set to be released from jail pending his retrial, but the decision was reversed after a warrant surfaced, involving the rapper allegedly choking his then-girlfriend outside a Houston nightclub. Eventually, his release pending retrial was reinstated, although he was provided an ankle monitor.
