20 years later, the breakthrough 50 Cent single "In Da Club" has earned diamond status.
To cap off the achievement, the Queens rapper took to Instagram and celebrated the RIAA Diamond certification.
"Diamonds are forever," he wrote alongside a video depicting the monumental achievement.
"In Da Club" was 50's lead single from his 2003 debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin' and peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking the G-Unit founder's first time on the chart. Co-produced by Dr. Dre, the superproducer made a cameo in the music video, along with Eminem, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, The Game, Xzibit and more. Last February, 50 brought "In Da Club" to the Super Bowl LVI during a surprise appearance at the event's all-star hip-hop halftime show.
Two years after Get Rich or Die Tryin' was released, 50 Cent made his acting debut in a semi-autobiographical drama of the same name.
The diamond certification achievement follows Get Rich or Die Tryin' celebrating its 20th anniversary in February. The reign has continued throughout 2023, with 50 Cent tapping Busta Rhymes and Jeremih as supporting acts on The Final Lap Tour. The North American leg of the multi-city tour ended last month, while the artists will perform internationally until December.
Special guests Fat Joe, Jadakiss, J. Cole, YG and Nas joined 50 on The Final Lap Tour, with the latter saluting the former Power star during an L.A. performance in August.
“When this man dropped, the whole rap game changed,” Nas told the crowd. “Queens in the building, bruh. Shout out to Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda — my brothers. I love you, man.
Putting an end to their years-long beef, 50 and Nas dropped their first collaboration "Office Hours" on Magic 2 in July.
